TRUEMAGE.COM The letter
A desert checkpoint at night, its barrier down and locked, the booth lit and empty, a ledger open on the counter.

The Accords

Border law for the prison-world: who crosses, what it costs, who may contact humans, which gates stay sealed. Still in force.

Designation
Accords: the border laws of the prison-world
Class
Border law
Status
In force

The authority behind the Accords is dead, and they're still in force.

They're the border laws of the prison-world. They settle four questions: who and what can cross, what price gets paid, which entities may contact humans, and which gates stay sealed.

The rules of an actual crossing, threshold to toll, sit apart from them, under The Law of Crossings.

Two answers

Officially, the Accords protect humanity. Actually, they protect the architecture of the lower world.

"Sometimes those are the same thing. Sometimes they are not."

The Demiurge built that architecture. The Archons run the cage.

The keeper

Nathaniel Verone holds the office that enforces them, Keeper of the Accords. His job, in one line, is to "enforce border law between human reality and the realms humans cannot reach in a meat suit."

Standing

In force.

"The jailer is dead. The prison is still locked. The laws still work. That is the problem."

Verone enforces them anyway. He doesn't know what happens if he stops.
