"They crawl when danger is near."
The Living Sigils are the black tattoos that cover Verone neck to toe. They're Accord sigils, and the mantle burned them in.
Functions
Six of them:
- a warning system
- a restraint
- a weapon channel
- a jurisdictional marker
- a boundary sensor
- a painful legal interface
They form seals and weapons, and they restrain Verone when he overreaches. Nobody has catalogued them one by one, and nobody has a count.
Behavior
Active, they crawl, tighten, distort, or move toward the wrist. They don't glow. What you see is black ink moving on a man's skin, "ritual circuitry and old jurisdictional scars."
"They are the leash."
Law
The general rule, under Magick Is Access: "A sigil feeds a desire." These are Accord sigils, an interface to the border law Verone keeps, and the interface hurts.
Authorship
Verone can't fully read his own sigils. "He didn't write all of them."
